CSR activities:

Kaliro sugar Sponsors the Leaders Forum on 9^th December 2017.  The theme of the event was harnessing the economic potential of the Busoga region. The guest of Honor was Honorable Speaker of parliament Rebecca Alitwaala Kadaga.

Environment:

We care about the environment. We are conscious of the fact that we must keep our planet (Earth) safe and secure for future generations. Therefore, all our investments, operations and activities are designed in such a way that there are minimal pollution and negative impact on the environment.

Community:

Alam Group of companies has played its part in order to help the community and will continue to do so in the future. Some of the contributions made by the Alam Group of companies include:

The sponsoring of sports events such as the Kampala Kids League (KKL), boxing events as well as numerous golf competitions. Golf is one of the sports that Alam Group has taken pleasure in sponsoring with the aim of improving golfing talent among the younger generation. The last big event sponsored by Alam Group was the 59th Uganda open which took place at the Kitante golf course in Kampala. Golfers from Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda participated in this great event. The tournament consisted of two categories, the main competition as well as the children’s competition. The overall winner of the main competition was Deo Akope of Entebbe Golf Club.

Akope managed to equal the 33-year-old course record by carding an amazing 65 shots. In the children’s category, the winner was twelve-year-old Brian Tolit.

Alam Group has contributed towards helping the Muslim community with the construction of Mosques as well as sponsoring various other activities.

Alam Group has sponsored various children’s football leagues such as the Kampala kids league (KKL) and the Nakivubo children’s football club. Alam group has played an important role in promoting the children’s sporting skills through the sponsorship of tournaments and sportswear.

Alam Group annually gives out gift packs to the Moslem community to celebrate the end of fasting during Eid.

Alam Group supports National Sports the sponsoring a table at the SC Villa inaugural awards dinner that was held at Sheraton Hotel on September 17th 2011.

Safety at the workplace:

We believe in the health and safety of our workers and the neighbourhood. We have foolproof systems in place to ensure that our workers operate in a safe and secure environment. We also run in-house medical facilities that can handle any health and safety emergencies within and without our premises.
